At Making Sense of Sugar we understand that mums have busy lives and it can be a challenge to get the balance right when it comes to your family’s diet and lifestyle. That’s why we want to help by giving you advice and tips on your child’s diet and lifestyle. We are working with a team of experts who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to help you make more informed choices every-day.

With our pediatric dietitian Ana-Kristina Skrapac, we have a blog series focusing on a range of topics from positive role modelling and tackling those fussy eaters through to deciding on the right portion size for your children. Ana-Kristina makes the point that children learn their dietary habits from a young age and so it’s key that we establish good practices early on. Ana-Kristina also talks about the Government’s Eatwell Guide and how it can be a helpful tool when thinking about your family’s diet. You can also watch Ana-Kristina’s video where she shares her advice and top tips on how to create a balanced lunchbox.

Once you’ve watched Ana-Kristina’s video you can put her advice into practice with Chef Manju Malhi’s lunchbox tasty recipes which are all delicious and will help achieve that important balance.

Alongside all of our expert’s tips, we also have our guides to sugar. Our guides are a simple and easy way to see what ingredients are in some of your family favorites – including the calorie content and where the sugars typically come from in these foods and drinks.

A balanced lifestyle isn’t just about diet, it’s important to exercise and with our family fitness apps you can get the whole family involved. Whether it’s taking the dog for a walk, signing up to a dance class or taking the kid’s for a ride on their bikes.

And finally, don’t forget to think about your child’s dental health. To help, our expert dentist Dr James Russell has created a series of videos offering some advice on establishing good dental habits for the whole family as well as a blog series packed full of lots of top tips on looking after your children’s smiles. As a dad, he knows that taking your child to visit the dentist may prove to be a tough feat – check out his video on how to tackle this common problem. You can also test your dental knowledge with our quizzes – why not get the kids involved and have some fun!

We have all of this and so much more to inform your daily choices – so keep exploring our website. We love to hear any feedback, so please contact us on Twitter @senseofsugar with questions, or thoughts on any further content you’d like to see from our experts.
